Vail Luxury Lodging Help

December 8th, 2008 Graham Swalling Posted in Vail Luxury Rentals, Vail Ski Vacations, Vail Valley Events, Vail Valley Happenings No Comments »

Luxury lodging in Vail certainly manifests a competitive climate as Vail’s upscale lodging and cities have been one of their strongest selling points.  Lodging in the Vail Valley, whether in Vail or Beaver Creek, certainly is phenomenal with easy access to the city’s villages and the mountain.  But when it comes to distinguishing between your options VailSkiVacations.com and our staff are an excellent resource.

Our company employs a well educated, highly knowledgeable staff of locals who know the Vail Valley as well as anyone.  Complementing this local experience is our large, diverse inventory of lodges, private homes, hotels and condos in the Vail Valley.  Because we aren’t a property management company we can book clients in any property that aligns their desires with our options, it really isn’t hard when you have access to over a thousand properties!

But what does this mean to you? Well to begin, you’re guaranteed to save time by avoiding a complicated online booking procedure that involves difficult searching and comparison.  When you contact our staff we listen to your requests and desires then utilize our knowledge of Vail to properly match you to a few properties.  After that we respond promptly with our best selections and inform you on their differentiating characteristics.  All this leaves you with a less complex booking procedure, better choices, and accommodations that are exactly what you wanted.

Arguably the best part though is our ability to save you money because as local ‘travel agents’ we have access to great discounts and booking rates.  Our competitors frequently mark up their prices to ensure higher profit margins, this contrasts our technique in which we utilize relevant, new information to supply current prices that are guaranteed to rival any competition.

Hopefully this helped illustrate why all of us at VailSkiVacations.com and VailBeaverCreekLuxuryProperties.com are proud of our businesses and our work.  We look forward to helping you with any booking you might have upcoming for either Vail or Beaver Creek.  Contact us at 1-877-411-8245 or through our website.

Vail Real Estate Report

November 17th, 2008 Mark Cervantes Posted in Vail Fractional Rentals, Vail Lodging, Vail Lodging Report, Vail Ski Vacations No Comments »

In past years, and economic troubles, the Vail Valley Real Estate market has remained very stable often not even fluctuating with national trends.  Considered a safe haven by many home owners and real estate brokers the Vail Valley has shown incredible resilience.  However, in the past months it’s become clear that the Real Estate market in Vail is suffering.

Not necessarily a bad thing, while many people are tightening their budget these days others view this as an opportunity.  Rightfully so, with national and regional pressure decreasing demand home prices are staying stable or falling for one of the first times ever in Vail.  What does this mean to you?  A great chance to view and prepare a bid for a home, or fractional property, to buy when you’re ready to.  It’s clear that within a few years these economic concerns will subside, or if your career and earnings haven’t been jeopardized now is a great time to take advantage of your increased purchasing power.

Our sister companies VailSKiVacations.com and VailBeaverCreekLuxuryProperties.com are both confident that the market will bounce back and return to its previous high.  As such, our staff feels that now is a great time to purchase a second home or a fractional property if you have the capabiliyt.  A buyer’s market has emerged in what is typically a very priced region in which the seller has all of the control.  We encourage interested parties to act quickly and contact us to recieve further information through our websites or at 1-877-411-8245.

James Bengala, 26, Wholesale Division Operations Manager

How long have you lived in the Vail Valley? Where did you move from?

I’ve been here for just over 4 Years in the Vail Valley; I started out as a manager of a ski and snowboard shop in Beaver Creek before being hired by Vail Ski Vacations. I’m currently living in Avon with incredible views of Beaver Creek, having originally moved from the southeast coast of North Carolina, Wilmington to be exact…ever seen the movie Cape Fear with DeNiro?

What do you like about the Vail Valley? How does the Valley enhance your interests?

The Vail Valley allows you to pursue a career while be stationed in one of the greatest outdoor arenas in North America. As you push yourself at work you also push yourself with recreation…winter sports, summer sports, live music…there’s never a dull moment. My hobbies here in the valley include snowboarding, snowshoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, skateboarding, hiking and camping. And by the way, the Vail Valley sees over 300 days of sunshine a year!!! How do you like that Florida?!?!?

Give a brief synopsis of a typical day at work.

A typical day at work includes working on TPS reports, looking for my stapler, decorating my cubicle, harassing other coworkers (especially Greg)…pretty basic. On a serious note, I generally start the day by checking voice mail and emails and following up with anyone needed. Usually 3X weekly I will work on and create QuikBooks files to send to our bookkeeper. This keeps us up to speed with our cash flows and allows for a snapshot of our company’s financials. Once we have this snapshot we can then make knowledgeable, financially strategic decisions for the best interest of our company.

Throughout the day I will field phone calls from potential clients, work with existing clients and also work with domestic and international wholesalers whom send business our way. I love working with FIT (frequent independent travelers) clients but right now I’m really enjoy working with the wholesalers, as this is new to our company. Setting up new relationships throughout the USA as well as overseas is exciting! New contacts, new networks…it really takes our company in the direction we’re shooting for which is to be recognized and well-respected world-wide. I am proud to play such a vital role in developing our wholesale division.

Gregory G. Maher, Vacations Sales Coordinator and Ski Club Divisions Operations Manager

How long have you lived in the Vail Valley? Where did you move from?

I have lived in the Vail Valley for 4 years now after having grown up in Denver so I’m proud to say that I’m a Colorado native.

What do you like about the Vail Valley? How does the Valley enhance your interests?

For me, Vail is a place I can comfortably call "home". Originally being from Denver the Vail Valley is quite a great contrast to such a large city. The lack of people, traffic and pollution keeps Vail pristine, and the breath taking natural beauty and outdoor activities ensure that the Valley has plenty to offer me. Additionally, the small town atmosphere is what really makes Vail great for me because everywhere I go I see someone I know!

The Valley, and the associated healthy and active lifestyle help me with maintaining a wonderful lifestyle; fishing, camping, hiking and of course snowboarding all fit into this lifestyle and consume a majority of my free time. I’m thankful for the Valley because I can’t imagine a more beautiful and peaceful environment to live in.

Give a brief synopsis of a typical day at work.

My job is centered around helping our guests experience the best that Vail and Beaver Creek have to offer. I work closely with my clients and spend considerable time assessing their particular vacation needs. I have the expertise and knowledge of that the Vail Valley has to offer, and I will custom tailor a vacation package that allows my clients to experience the best possible vacation. My love for the Vail Valley is evident to all my clients, as I assist them with all of their vacation needs. With each phone conversation with my guests I am able to pass on my enthusiasm for the Valley and all it has to offer.

A large part of my day is spent interacting with clients, and this time is quite enjoyable as I assist them in finding their piece of heaven right here. My clientele ranges from families to singles, friends to ski clubs and I always ensure that my expertise and commitment will result in finding my customers the perfect accommodations for their stay.

Meet the Vail Ski Vacations Staff: Rich tenBraak

Rich tenBraak Vail Ski Vacations Senior Director Fractional Housing Luxury Rental
Richard "Rich" tenBraak

Name & Position

Richard tenBraak, Senior Director

How long have you lived in the Vail Valley? Where did you move from?

Originally an East Coaster having grown up in northern New Jersey, Rich tenBraak has worked up and down the East Coast in Atlantic City, New York City, New Hampshire, Vermont, Nantucket and Boca Raton. Rich moved to Vail in 2001 and has thoroughly enjoyed his seven years in the Vail Valley. Previously residing in Edwards, Rich moved into a beautiful home in Wildridge a little over a year ago.

What do you like about the Vail Valley? How does the Valley enhance your interests?

I like just about everything in the Vail Valley, the diversity of activities that ensure a fabulous overall life style. That’s a life style of balance between work and play situated in an amazing environment. The Vail Valley is a place where many people will save all year just to spend a week’s vacation here, as for me I live that vacation 52 weeks a year.

My interests include skiing which I get about 40 plus days a year in and during the other seasons I golf, motorcycle (both street and dirt) camp and drink wine that I make. When I first arrived I heard the saying, “Locals come for the winter but stay for the summer”. It only took me a few months to understand how true that is. Vail is a world class ski area, hands down. That so often over shadows all the other opportunities and variety of offering that the Vail area has the rest of the year.

Give a brief synopsis of a typical day at work.

I’m not sure there is a typical day at work for me! I generally arrive early; around 8:00 AM to tend to e-mails, voice mails, phone calls, staff meetings and overall organization needs. In such a rapidly developing company every time you have one project wrapped up it seems like three more come along to take its place. I generally take my leave about 6:30 PM thinking about all the work that still needs to be accomplished tomorrow….I guess that’s a form of job security!!

Pamela Saden Concierge Vail
Pamela Saden

Name & Position

Pamela Saden, Director of Concierge Services

How long have you lived in the Vail Valley? Where did you move from?

I’ve lived in Vail for almost 27 years having moved from Northern California, although I am originally from Southern California.

What do you like about the Vail Valley? How does the Valley enhance your interests?

What I like about Vail: I like the climate, blue skies, fluffy white clouds, the outdoors, a lack of traffic, the small town atmosphere, fresh snow, looking at the brilliant stars, feeling safe, the summers and winters, fall colors, wildlife and the arts.

I am a professional fine art photographer and love being in touch with nature, so Colorado is a great state for me to live in. When I am not working or taking photos I’m often making jewelry, working out, snowshoeing, hiking or creating new raw vegan recipes.

Give a brief synopsis of a typical day at work.

Being a concierge for fifteen years has taught me there really aren’t typical days in the life of a concierge. Helping others is what I enjoy and do best, ensuring my days always seem full. Whether I am planning someone’s entire vacation from their travel, dining, and activities to their childcare (just to mention a few things), or organizing a family reunion and providing information on what Vail and the surrounding areas have to offer, my job not only excites me but coincides with many aspects of my personal life.

After my first year of being a concierge in Vail I won Employee of the Year for the Radisson Resort in Vail (now the Marriott) and went on to be honored as Western Region Employee of the Year for Corporate Radisson. Flying to Berlin, Germany to accept my award was one of the highlights of my life. The honor and having my hard work recognized were critical steps in my development as one of Vail’s best concierge. My extensive knowledge of local Vail Valley activities coupled with the invaluable relationships I have developed with local businesses ensures that our guests’ stay will not only be memorable, but generally exceed their expectations.
